Rob Serbin and Nancy Schaefer tied the knot on Sunday, June 12th at a welcoming beach front rental on Lake Michigan. This simple, classy Glen Arbor wedding wowed and surprised, with an overwhelming dose of love and support from their friends, family and community.

Michigan weather had us all wondering how the day would unfold, but so it goes, the skies opened and the sun shone for a beautiful event on our favorite lakeshore. A friend of “Nan” shuttled the guests from Lake Street in Glen Arbor down a private drive to beach house. A talented musician and friend provided live music on his keyboard, playing classic favorites and jazzy tunes. An adorable, carefree grand-daughter of Rob’s played the role of flower girl. Nan’s siblings and three sons attended the weddding, coming from all over the US. Close friends and family gathered to watch the this happy couple begin a new journey together.
During the Vows, Rob surprised Nan with a tune while strumming the guitar (who knew he could play?!). Nan’s dog, dressed for the occasion, sat on a loving lap in the front row.
To follow the ceremony, appetizers and a heart-felt, humorous champagne toast was given to celebrate. Then, the shuttle began to transport guests to a divine reception dinner at Blu. Normally closed on Sundays, the capable staff serve guests a superb 3 course dinner. Not to mention, it was also Chef Randy’s birthday! Finally, as the sky grew dark and the lights dimmed, tables moved and dancing began.
