Not only is she an active mom of 2 young children, an owner/operator of a developing farm business in Leelanau County, the Marketing Director for the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce, but she’s built Rockwell Art & Design, a successful design & marking company based in Michigan.

Raquel has proven herself to be self motivated by growing her own business, maintains active working relationships with a number of  clients each month, is both organized and creative, great at brainstorming, has a strong work ethic and independently stays on target. She also continues to gain customer referrals while keeping her current clientele and workload happy!

Rockwell Art & Design began with an idea for a High School art project, inspiring her to attend Design School. After working in restaurants and retail since she was 14, a mentor inspired her to just start her own thing. It started with getting a DBA and 1 customer back in 2010, growing over the year to a handful of larger website and graphic design projects. She quickly turned the project based customers into monthly clients, offering quality work and affordable creative services, with someone they liked to work with.

She single-handedly offers each client a plethora of creative services to help achieve their brand goals.

This may begin with creative brainstorms sessions to see where the client is at and where they’d like to go. Together, they draft a plan of action to build, maintain and grow a loyal audience online, while also representing their brand well in print and in person. She achieves this through original photography, graphic design, social media set-up and regular management, website design and management, posting regularly to their website through content and software updates as well as blogging. Some of her clients require Press Releases to be drafted and submitted – a great way to gain more traction with a local audience in print and online, also getting some free press!

Developed 2 full Brand Product lines including packaging & label design, also promoting the products after development. These included: Oh My Lolli and ELT Aromatherapy.

Jackson Station was literally unknown a year and a half ago, and without an outlet like Farmer’s Markets or retail outlets yet, Jackson Station is now a budding name in the local region with an active social media following on Instagram & Facebook and about half of the followers are also subscribers to their email blasts and over 80% of the email subscribers are also buyers of their product.

Brewery Becker

Raquel approached the owner on a city of Brighton, MI sidewalk during the build-out phase of his Brewery renovation and introduced herself. After offering her services, following up 3 times then meeting in person to discuss, he thought she was exactly what he needed.

The owner had some web development experience but knew he didn’t have time to do it himself, while immersed in drywall dust. He had no interest in social media but understood that it would be an important piece to play with the growing craft beer scene, so he agreed Raquel was right to suggest it and allowed her to set-up and manage social media accounts representing the Brewery for him. These include: Google My Business, Google Maps, Google Photos, Facebook and Instagram.

Project Feature : generate & maintain an active Social Media following.

Created a new Facebook Business page, with only friends and family members to follow, and have grown to over 4,200 page likes with an active and engaged audience.

Social media posts driving interest & participation in Brewery events.

Raquel drafts and posts original content to their website, independently does email blast composition and social media posts.

She does new business photography throughout the year to get new content to post from afar, managing a Brighton, MI Brewery’s marketing from Glen Arbor, MI. Also included in her work for Brewery Becker, she does special event graphic design & promotion, designed their printed tap room menu and regularly checks the Brewery emails and website form submissions.
