Being online, especially in multiple places can be a lot to keep up with, especially if you’re a small business owner. I’m going to share some tips on how to use Facebook successfully for your business.
1.
Set up your Facebook business page.
If you already have one, log in regularly to make sure your contact info, logo and cover image are up to date. There’s nothing worse than seeing a business on facebook with the wrong hours or address.
If you don’t have a business page on Facebook yet, reference this guide from Hootsuite, “How to create a page in 8 steps.”
2.
Boost engagement by posting to Facebook like a pro.
Don’t bother having a social page that you don’t use. As a customer, there’s nothing worse than seeing that a page’s most recent post was made last May. Make a plan and post a mix of content. Post things that are seasonally appropriate, inspirational or funny quotes, an invite to an event, mixed with posts about a Sale or new products and services you’re offering.
3.
Much like customer service is important in a retail setting, excellent customer care is equally important online.
Log in regularly (or pay someone to do so for you!) and respond accordingly (and quickly) to recommendations, reviews, comments, shares and messages. Engaging back with your followers/customers is key in keeping their engagement. Remember, marketing is about reminding people you’re there and staying in the forefront of their mind!

4.
Get people talking about your business by adding recommendations.
“The power of a recommendation: Research shows 83% of consumers say they trust recommendations from family and friends. When your brand gets recommended to someone, they are likely to give it a shot.“
